The Sealed Book

was a short-run series derived from stories previously told in The Mysterious Traveler. Its sister show, The Strange Dr. Weird, derived its stories from MT's supernatural mysteries, while The Sealed Book favoured murder mysteries. But while Dr. Weird was condensed to 15-minute episodes, The Sealed Book retained a 30-minute format. Scripts were prepared by the writing team of Robert A. Arthur and David Kogan [Dark Destiny, The Mysterious Traveler, The Strange Dr. Weird, The Teller of Tales].

Death at Storm House

Lisette Lester, the young and beautiful mistress of a New England mansion known as Storm House lies on her deathbed. Death Spins a Web

In a great mansion far from the city, Mrs Oliver Drake lies bedridden and is expected to die within two months. She summons her three worthless grandchildren: Blanche, Vivian, and their cousin Chris, and bitterly explains that if she had her way, she'd cut them off without a penny and leave everything to charity, but that according to her late husband's will she must bequeath everything to them. The division, however, does not have to be equal...

Design for Death

Carl and Dora Evans are on the run from the police, heading for Canada, when their car slides into a gully deep in the Maine woods. Fortunately, they discover an isolated cabin. Unfortunately, the cabin is inhabited. Fortunately, the inhabitant, Mordred Vance, is a recluse who has no television or radio, no servants, doesn't read the newspapers and has no way of knowing that Carl and Dora are fugitives. Unfortunately, Mordred falls in love with Dora. Fortunately, Carl and Dora realize that if Mordred disappears, they are home free. Unfortunately, Mordred has a penchant for playing frenetic organ music at any time of day... and it's beginning to get on Dora's nerves.

Devil Island

Shortly after Anne Drake moves to Devil Island to live with her father (Martin), step-mother (Hester), uncle (Henry), and their servant (Abel), strange things begin to happen. Anne worries that the strain of insanity that runs in her family is taking hold and she will shortly lose her mind. The rest of the family isn't helping...

Escape by Death

Two invalid sisters (Martha and Louise Abbot) living with their niece (Hester) and nephew (Roger) become disgruntled with the isolated life in the country and make plans to move back to their former home in the city. But when one of their cats dies after eating a piece of meat and the other unexpectedly vanishes, the sisters begin to wonder if their niece and nephew will ever allow them to leave.

Another version previously aired on The Mysterious Traveler as "The House of Death".

Ghost Makers, The

When Agatha Wainwright dies, her estate will go to charity... much to the annoyance of her nephew, Ned, who has severe gambling debts that must be paid. Ned enlists the help of his long-time friend and psychic phenomena 'expert', Professor Piedmont. They aim to drive Ned's aunt insane by creating 'ghosts' and proving the estate is haunted. As her only living relative, Ned would then become the administrator of her estate!

Hands of Death, The

Wheelchair-bound Edward Morlock crosses paths with his brother, Cain, years after Edward has cheated Cain out of his inheritance. In the meantime, Cain has become a murderer... and Morlock has become a collector of murder weapons. Tempers run high and it is unclear who is going to murder whom.

I'll Die Laughing

Prospector Gimpy Gordon discovers a long-lost cavern containing Aztec treasure, and sells the resulting treasure map to a wealthy businessman named John Dayton. Dayton's wife, Laura, and her lover, Harvey, think a long vacation to explore the cavern will present the perfect opportunity to do away with John so they can inherit his estate and live happily ever-after.

King of the World

A criminal, wounded and on the run from the law, stumbles into a remote house where a scientist is developing a serum that has the power to defeat death. The criminal demands some of the serum. The scientist demurs, explaining that although the serum heals all wounds 'swifter than the eye can see' it may have some unexpected side-effects.

Man with the Stolen Face, The

Snippet: "The strange story of a murderer who found that justice has an uncanny way of working itself out as in the tale titled 'Murder Must Be Paid For'." --- the narrator

Out of the Past

Snippet: "The strange tale of a dying man, told on his deathbed. A story of madness and horror. A tale called 'Out of the Past'." --- the narrator

Queen of the Cats

Snippet: "The strange story of a woman who was born with the soul of a cat. A tale titled 'Queen of the Cats'." --- the narrator

Stranger in the House

Snippet: "The strange story of a cursed and evil spirit—a spirit that threatened the peace and happiness of a young married couple. A tale called 'Stranger in the House'." --- the narrator

Till Death Do Us Part

Time on My Hands

Welcome Home

Leonard returns to his boyhood home with his wife Florence. The home, a mansion named Pirate's Rest, lies deep in the heart of the Louisiana bayou and is slowly crumbling into ruin. Leonard and Florence plan to sell the property, but Aunt Emily claims the property belongs to her because Leonard is dead!
